Dear Prospective Families,
Thank you for your interest in St. Agatha Catholic School. If you haven’t already visited,
we would be pleased to open our doors to you to show our wonderful facility, talented
teaching staff, challenging academic program, and popular extra-curricular activities.
Please give us a call at 503-234-5500 to make an appointment for a tour.
Within our state-of-the-art facility that keeps our students safe and engaged, you will
find a staff that is devoted to educating the whole child academically, spiritually and
morally. Our challenging curriculum is taught using a variety of learning styles to
address individual student needs. Our Learning Support Center gives strong support
to students with various academic needs, as well as support for staff and parents to
help maximize student’s academic achievement. Our science program will have a fantastic
new science lab incorporated into the curriculum; it is scheduled to open in January of 2011. Our Junior National Honor Society Peer Tutoring program promotes community building and academic support for younger grade students. And, while many area schools are considering cutting back PE, technology, art and music instruction, these subjects are alive and thriving within St. Agatha.
St. Agatha Catholic School offers opportunities for our students to give back to the community through service learning projects. K-8 students participate in a variety of age appropriate projects that support the collective class interests. This academic year, the kindergarten class created two raised garden beds for vegetable planting that will support homeless shelters in the area. Our first grade class put on fundraising events and activities to benefit local animal shelters (including a local theater screening of “Hotel for Dogs”), and our middle school students performed various service projects to established organizations within the Portland area such as the Oregon Food Bank; Providence Child Center; and the Portland Parks and Recreation, including Tryon Creek and Oaks Bottom trail clean-ups.
We offer extra-curricular activities that develop both the mind and body through teamwork and self-exploration. A few of the programs offered include CYO sports, private music instruction, student government, and Mad Science with many more in the works!
We pride ourselves on Faith, Service and Learning through the moral and spiritual teachings of the Catholic Church. Our curriculum, small class size, extra-curricular offerings, service learning projects and our supportive parent community make St. Agatha Catholic School a wonderful investment in your child’s future.
God Bless,
Jeff Delegato,
Principal
