Mardi Gras Madness - Auction 2012
The 2012 St. Agatha Catholic School Auction will occur on Saturday, February 11th starting at 4:30 p.m. at
St. Agatha Catholic School. The first silent auction closes at 6:20 p.m. , the second at 6:40pm , and the 3rd at 7:00pm so be sure to arrive as soon as you can! Dinner will begin being served at 7:10pm, with a prayer service at 7:15pm. A slide show and then dinner will follow prayer. Dinner will be served family style.
While the third and second grade parents are responsible for managing this event, all parents and parishioners
are extremely valuable and critical to the success of this auction. How does St. Agatha measure success? The
auction team's primary initiative is to reach a monetary goal set by the Finance Committee. However, it is more than just fund raising. It is about "friend raising". We want all those involved with St. Agatha Catholic School and Parish, whether as a parent, grandparent, parishioner, or neighbor to experience this community-building activity as time to get to know one another and ultimately have fun.
Auction revenue contributes to 82% of the operating budget which covers:
1. Tuition Assistance
2. Building and Plant Maintenance
3. Curriculum/Instruction needs
4. Payroll and Personnel Expenses
As a St. Agatha Catholic School parent, you have three primary obligations:
1. Participate and assist the development of your class oral auction and silent auction projects. These
projects are managed by the class parent, however the best projects usually require collective thought
and participation. While the projects use the artistic talent of our students, parent involvement is
necessary to create the final product. Please see your class room parent for details.
2. Procure or donate items with a total value of $250. If you don't feel comfortable soliciting items from
local businesses or do not have something of our own to donate, cash is always needed and desired. Your
donation is due on January 13th. If we do not receive your donation on that date, you will be billed $250
on January 20th.
3. Keep up to date with Auction News. Visit the website for updated information and ideas
(www.stagathaschool.us/auction).
We are confident that with many hands assisting, we will raise funds and nourish the community spirit for
St. Agatha Catholic School.
Thank you!
